4)I read about the pine beetle outbreak and how it buffers
watersheds from nitrate pollution.
Trees and vegetation that survived pine beetle invations
increase their nitrate uptake.
The beetles do not disturb watersheds in the same way
storms do.

1. Yes, i learned about how companies can and most likely do use many different forms of renewable and reducible forms of recycling. they can reuse shipping boxes or buy old and used metals to reshape and reform them to make their products.
2. I will try to recycle more and make wiser decisions on how to recycle.
3. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=94Qh0C3uUeU this video is very good for everyone to view and it seems also a good short video to view in class.
4. I read Douglas Christie on contemplative ecology. I thought it was the best choice between the four because it helps to show how having a slight spiritual view yet still being understanding about political understandings will help to make a better ecological environment.

1. I learned that instead of throwing away our plastic bottles, paper, etc, we can recycle them. That way the recyclables won't just be sitting in the landfill. By recycling, we lower the overall waste levels.

2. I give Mr.Nannini water bottles everyday to recycle. I always throw away my trash, but maybe we can start a pay-as-you-throw propgram like the game had. Hopefully that would help encourage people to recycle more.

3.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fq-muLRSuAw

4. I read the, "New Cost-efficent Method to Assess Renewable Energy Potential of Waste" article. Cranford University thought of a new method where we can use parts of our waste for energy, such as electricity and water. This system can tell how much of renewable energy a piece of waste material is holding by determining the level of biogenic content it has.
"200 million tons of waste is produced in UK every year which is capable of producing 4% of the total UK's electricity and water needs." (Chadha)In short, this system is great and will save time and money.

I read that the world's most widely used insecticide has for the first time been officially labelled an "unacceptable" danger to bees feeding on flowering crops. I also read that Bees and other pollinators are critical to one-third of all food. because of exposure through nectar and pollen , crops that attract honeybees include oil seed rape, corn and sunflowers. That's pretty much it.

2. To personally help the environment, I will unplug chargers and cords plugged into outlets to save energy and electricity when they are not in use.

3. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a97xnEJQx9Y

4. I read an article titled, "Embracing a Plastic-free Future" written by Tamar Pixley. He and his sister didn't understand why food is packaged in things that can't be recycled. After receiving an email from Move-On.org, Pixley and his sister needed to write a petition and have 20 people sign so Move-On can share it with a thousand people, to get the word out to reduce the usage of plastic. Within a few days, the petition had over 100 signers. Many people agreed that plastic and non-biodegradable packaging, should not be used to package food. By not using plastic, there will be less waste in landfills.

1. I learned that there are many different ways to recycle different things. You can reuse old boxes to ship things. You can reuse jars and containers to place things inside that you need such as buttons, nails, or thumbtacks. You can use an empty coffee can as a flower pot. I also learned that some products sold in plasic containers cannot be reused because of the harmful chemicals inside of them.

2) I recycle papers in school. And I also reuse plasic containers for different items.

I personal beileve tigers shouldnt be killed just because of their potential harm towards humans. If humans know the risk of the danger tigers bring then they shouldnt move or live in their space. If it wasnt for the U.S keeping tigers in captivity then most likely tigers would be in more danger than what they are now.

I personally believe if the U.S didnt keep the tigers captivative then the tigers would be closer to extinction then what they already are. I also beilve that the humans put themselves at risk by moving into where the tigers live. The humans know the risk and danger that a tiger can bring so why do they move to where a tiger is?

This toxin is said to cause fatal damage to other ecosystems in the United States, as well as Minnesota. There have been many suggestions from scientists that this toxin be banned in the United Sates because of the few benefits it offers for the well-being of nature, yet nothing has been finalized because of a said lack of evidence. Canada, on the other hand, has already taken the first step ahead of the U.S. by announcing their government’s intent to ban this toxin, last year.

Toronoto may be in trouble if they dont start to protect their ozone. But because of all the un needed pollution being sent into the air, the ozone will slowly deteriate, and weather climates will rapidly change.

1) I learned that you can save a lot of paper by simply sending documents or letters electronically because the technology nowadays allows us to send emails or scan documents to fax them. You can also decrease the amount of waste by using plastic reusable cups you buy at the groccery store instead of foam or paper cups. You can just wash your plastic cup out and reuse it everyday instead of wasting all of that trash. You can also reuse your waterbottles over and over again because simply using 1 waterbottle for a whole week can save tons of plastic being wasted for the future.
2)I will personally help the environment by reusing my water bottle everyday for a whole week, instead of taking a new waterbottle to school everyday, I will take the one i used that day, refill it, and put it in the fridge for the next morning. I will also use a sack instead of brining paper bags everyday for my lunch to save paper.

Scientists have shown that cats kill more birds and mammals than automobile strikes, pesticides, and poisons combined. In the part about “the problem” they spoke of how both ecology and economy have the same meanings in Greek house and then how they are both closely related to the study or management of the house and how in this day in age we don’t seem to care as much for ecology as we do the economy because they are both very important. Then in the part speaking of “ the solution” it talked about how humans are not the only life on this world and how we need to get back on balance with the world so all can be normal and world out. Finally in the part in which they concluded the “rewards” of solving the problem they said with the world in balance we dint have to worry as much for our own survival and that we were no better than the plants and animals we eat and the environment we live in because we are basically one as a whole needing each other to keep balance and harmony.

They have reduced the company's fuel oil consumption in brewhouse operations by 60-70 percent. It all started in 1995 with the installation of a grain dryer and almost 18 years later, the company completed the final stage of the $1.8 million grain steam boiler. They expect that the new boiler will eliminate the brewery's use of fuel oil in the grain drying, and displace more than half of the fuel needed to create steam in the brewhouse.

4:From the blog "Sophisticated Objection" that if we loose carbon then we would put our selves at great risk. It also says that no one belives that regulation alone will do the trick to help any situation. All countries believe that they need to look into the future to protect themselves from the dark foggy territory ahead. A scientist believes that the U.S should act unilaterally on the climate if it is necessary.
