Are You Looking at My Genes??

Take a tour of the basics regarding DNA and heredity. 1)There are six tours in total, which did you either like the best or learn the most from?(Answer is required, why did you chose this tour?) 2)What would you like to learn more about genetics? (Answer required, nothing is not acceptable!) 3) Post a web address of a YouTube video or an article related to genetics and 4) comment on another student's web posting. (40 points) Follow all directions to get credit and Blog early for extra credit (By November 5, 2013)

1) I liked the "What is DNA" tour, it is an easy introduction for people who may not be familiar witht the basics of genetics.

2)I would like to learn how the cell reads the DNA alphabet, what sentences help create certain chromosomes. I would like to know how the sequence of the DNA correlates with the traits the chromosome effects.

2.What would you like to learn about genetics? I would like to learn more about DNA in general. I always found DNA very interesting. Also if I ever wanted to be a homicide detective it would help me get a better understanding of DNA even though I wont be working with it but its still very interesting.

1)I enjoyed the heredity traits segment the best, I thought is was so fasinating how our traits that define us can be changed by our enviormnet, such as exposure to the sun can lighten our hair.I chose this tour because i find it interesting looking at my friends facial features and seeing how it resembles their parents.

1. I liked the one about the proteins most. I liked to see their role in nerve cells because I've always liked the nervous system.

1.The tour that I learned the most from was the "What is a Gene" tour because it was the tour that was the simplest to understand I understood exactly what the tour was saying.It was saying that genes are instruction manuals for our bodies that tell the body what to do.

I truly enjoyed all the tours. I liked how in certain tours the image would get closer and closer to show you (me) how tiny our genes, chromosomes, and protiens are. Also I really enjoyed how I was being read the information; I felt like my teacher was teaching me a lesson, like in class.
